Here is one of our favorite videos from Suffrage Wagon News Channel. It’s used by Antonia Petrash of the Long Island Woman Suffrage Association in her presentations about women’s activism on Long Island. As we approach 2020—the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution—this video is a valuable resource to share with others.

IN OTHER NEWS:

A campaign is underway in Virginia to gather support for the state being the final and 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution.

Honor Frederick Douglass whose participation at the 1848 Seneca Falls, NY women’s convention set the stage for the first wave of the women’s rights movement in the US.

If it hadn’t been for Frederick Douglass, this blog would be very different, if women had even gotten the right to vote at all.

It is really moving to watch women marching in the streets like that for equality and the right to vote. It made me tear up a little bit! I am going to have to share it with a few friends of mine. As we approach the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, we have to do more to ensure the Equal Rights Amendment get ratified.
