The first mention of my grandmother Edna meeting suffrage activist Alice Paul appeared in a 1913 column describing her experiences at the big suffrage parade in Washington, DC at the time of Woodrow Wilson’s inauguration. There’s no question that Edna  identified with the Quaker heritage she shared with Paul. Edna had this to say:There’s a limited supply of materials in the marketplace written by the suffrage activist descendants. That’s why I persist in blogging, especially during 2020, the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution. My writings about my grandparents—Edna Kearns and Wilmer Kearns—will be published in the spring of 2021. Stay tuned for more information.
