I couldn’t have been more elated than when a review of my book, An Unfinished Revolution: Edna Buckman Kearns and the Struggle for Women’s Rights appeared in the Friends Journal of August 2022. Prior to this, Friends Journal has kept a distance from memoir and family history. This would make sense back in the days when books from this genre may have been published on faulty copy machines and they featured multiple typos. This is changing, however, as scholars rush to study social movements from the top, as well as various levels of campaigns and movements, found often in unexpected locations. Gwen Gosney Erickson, Guildford College archivist, stepped up to the plate and left behind some treasured nuggets of insight.
