Once upon a time US women from all backgrounds worked full time to guarantee women’s voting rights. Then the passage of the guarantee that all US women should be able to vote was documented in the 19th amendment to the US constitution. However, voting rights as a guarantee was not an automatic shift. This was the situation for many native Americans and US women prevented by traditions and political party traditions where they lived. It has taken more work over the years to address this situation and continue the struggle.
