START PLANNING NOW FOR VISITING NEW YORK STATE IN 2020!
Sure, 2020 seems like a long way away. So when planning to celebrate 100 years of women voting in 2020, put the New York State Museum in Albany, NY on your list. The “Spirit of 1776” suffrage wagon will be on exhibit, and with the number of suffrage centennial events, you’ll have to make some hefty decisions.
During 2020, a statue of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton will be unveiled in Central Park, New York City. A suffrage memorial (Turning Point Suffragist Memorial) will hopefully open in Lorton, Virginia. There will be so many TV specials, conferences, exhibits, books, and special celebrations, you’ll have to make priorities. Special events are being planned all over the nation in local, state, and national locations and venues.
AND DON’T FORGET THE “SPIRIT OF 1776” WAGON ON YOUR LIST!
We’re thrilled the “Spirit of 1776” suffrage wagon used by Edna Kearns and others will be taken out of the state museum warehouse near Albany, NY and out into the light for everyone to see. Take note of the NYS Museum in your planning. We don’t have the opening and closing dates for the “Spirit of 1776″wagon yet, but you’ll be the first to know if you follow this blog.
