At least I tried to set the record straight. Some people don’t even lift their fingers to make this better world. They bide their time, and what happens…polarization…comes as a natural consequence. Here’s Pepper Schwartz again. She’s saying the predictable:
“Centuries of hierarchical relationships between men and women have made that arrangement seem natural. Men have been trained to lead, women to lean. Male leadership is lauded as one of the definitive aspects of masculinity; femininity is supposed to be vulnerable and supportive.
” . . . so males support female equality, but they fight it when their hold on hierarchy becomes tenuous.”
