I’m standing on the shoulders of those who have come before me. I’ve been carrying on the work of the ancestors, and passing the torch to those continuing the work. That’s why the efforts of the ERA Coalition are so important. We joined. We’re allies. And part of our work is discovering at what point we’re needed, appreciated, and embraced. I feel this now. My generation was overwhelmed by the task before us. And now we’re passing the torch onward. It’s a nonviolent process. It can be slow. And the challenge before us involves affirming the instincts of those who have come before us.Most have been volunteers. We care. We’re still here and kicking up a storm.
