Suffrage News: First wave of women’s rights movement! on Vimeo.

This is a special program at Suffrage Wagon Cafe about what is ahead for 2019. First, we’ll be sniffing around to confirm that there is plenty of support when we’ll be preparing for 2020 and the national centennial of women voting in the United States. We celebrate news from the New York State Museum that the “Spirit of 1776” suffrage campaign wagon will be on exhibit in 2020.

The year 2020 will be filled with events, celebrations, and more. Vision 2020 in Philadelphia is planning events for August. Turning Point Suffragist Memorial in Lorton, Virginia will be opening its doors for the public’s introduction to the first memorial to recognize the first wave of the women’s rights movement.

Work is underway to develop a national women’s trail honoring the first wave of the women’s rights movement. The statue in Central Park (NYC) of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony will be unveiled. States and communities across the nation will sponsor events and more during 2020. The year will include the publication of new books, films, and other cultural highlights. 2020 promises to be fun and informative. Plan a trip starting now. It’s not too early.

I can bear snow and sleet and rain and bad weather when I’m inside planning a trip to see the wagon in 2020.
