I’m no double exposure, sending messages about myself when I am thinking about dragons celebrated this year. It’s a Lunar new year when I’m thinking about this upcoming new year ahead. About how I haven’t been paying attention, following new directions, thinking that now that I have been learning about the new tricks and technology that I’m resistant and take a long time to learn.

MY PERSONAL REFLECTIONS ON MY FEET AND CHINESE FOOD

This is all related to the topic of the suffrage campaign wagon used by Edna Kearns and others during 1913. It’s in the collection of the New York State Museum in Albany, NY.

HOW DO I DESCRIBE MYSELF TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE?

I have been on autopilot, I am musing. Not paying attention. I am a stranger in a strange city. Brick by brick, I am learning and reacting as if a dictator is ordering me around. My body, soul, and spirit is dragging along, like an old suitcase, giving its stamp of approval, like a bastard king while the world moves forward.

WHAT’S THE PROBLEM, ASKS MARGUERITE KEARNS

I’m framed in the past. I’m joining the circus, reluctantly, late in the rush to a future. Into content…while ignoring the present day and future. This has to change.

WHAT IS MY FIRST STEP IN THE LUNAR NEW YEAR?

I signed up with an online class. The feet. Starting with my feet. I am incorporating the Feldenkrais movement/momentum. This is where I’ll start. Then my computers revolted. I missed the first session not long ago. Don’t worry. I’ll treat myself to this first New Year’s resolution—celebrating my feet—with celebrating the year of the dragon.

This month…February. Either I’ll order out on February 10th, or go out with a friend to eat great Chinese food. All over Santa Fe, NM, folks will be celebrating the Lunar New Year. I’m more than dragging myself along.

WHEN I’M THINKING ABOUT THE LUNAR NEW YEAR…

Now that I have ordered a Chinese calendar for 2024, I have made a SERIOUS commitment. I should gather my mail to see if it has arrived.

Onward toward the future. STARTING WITH THE BODY and the feet. Is there anyone else coming along?
